• Born into a family of musicians, Makarand Tulankar began his musical journey at the age of three, exposed to the rich world of music from an early age
• Received initial Tabla lessons from his grandfather, Pandit Shankar Vishnu Kanhere, a prominent Jaltarang player
• Influenced and inspired by legendary players like Ustad Nizamuddin Khan, Pt. Swapan Choudhary, and Ustad Zakir Hussain from his childhood
• Became a disciple of the renowned tabla maestro, Pt. Anindo Chatterjee, continuing his musical education under the guidance of the maestro
• Teaching experience of more than 30 years
• Currently conducting online and offline classes for students in India and abroad
• Specializes in teaching students preparing for Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya certification

• Registered Examiner at Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya
• Released a CD titled 'Journey in Dream' during his European tour with Ustad Usman Khan
• Experimented with fusion in 'The Secret of Wind,' combining the musical strains of Indian and Western classical music
